THE CHALLENGE:  Seeking to bolster its expertise in manufacturing quality and growth strategies, Fabcon engaged Cardinal Mark to hire a board member with experience in these areas. This was the first time in the company’s history that they had recruited a board member who was not previously known by current directors and managers. As a privately held company owned by a family trust, Fabcon was critically concerned with finding an individual with whom current board members would feel comfortable and secure.

OUR SOLUTION:  We began our process with tightly focused research that identified candidates who could bring strong manufacturing and quality experiences to the board. To ensure the necessary comfort level and candidate fit, we presented the CEO with twice the number of qualified candidates that a typical search would generate, providing him with the broadest possible range of persons from which to choose. As a result of this extensive and rigorous process, the chosen candidate was selecterd by unanimous consensus of the board and integrated easily with the existing directors. Fabcon was so pleased with this search that they later chose a second candidate for an additional board position.assisted the company in achieving its new business objectives.
